In this forum topic, we will cover the steps to set up an EOS Anchor wallet on Windows and macOS using a private key.
1. Ensure that you have created your EOS account and that you have your private key. If not, please do so using our How to create an EOS account from a PC or Mac using bloks.io walkthrough before proceeding.
2. Go to https://greymass.com and choose Anchor.
3. Choose Download for Free Today.
4. Choose the Download button for either Windows or macOS.
5. Execute the file that you have just downloaded to install Anchor.
6. Ensure you are using the EOSIO network if asked.
7. Import your EOS account by choosing Setup New Wallet.
8. Choose Existing Account.
9. Choose Import Private Key.
10. Create your Anchor password.
11. Paste or enter your EOS account private key in the Private Key box.
12. Only choose to import the Active key, not the owner key.
13. Choose Import Account.
14. Enter your Anchor password to proceed.
